Travel safely with your trusted partner
In order to ensure that all travellers who fly with TUI fly are optimally prepared for the flight, we have summarise important information relating to your trip on this page. Please read all information carefully. The safety regulations below apply even if you have received a COVID-19 vaccine. We advise you to read this page again at least the day before your arrival, in case some of the information has changed in the meantime.
If you have booked a TUI flight + hotel holiday and TUI fly does not operate your flight, you should consult the website of the operating airline for more information about the corona measures.
At the airports, the appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that the rules regarding distance are respected. There will be more staff and you will have to follow a specific route, for instance at the check-in desk or at the hand baggage and passport control. Certain areas of the airport, e.g. restaurants or shops, may be closed because it's not possible to keep the required distance. You can consult the website of your airport of departure or arrival for more information.
Only one personal item on board
In order to minimise contact on board, the luggage racks cannot be used during the flight. Only small items, like a handbag or a backpack can be taken on the plane. Every passenger can bring one bag, with a maximum weight of 10 kg and maximum dimensions of 30 x 30 x 15 centimetres. You are only allowed to put this bag underneath the seat in front of you. Hand luggage can be checked in for free at the check-in, 10 kg, max. 55 x 40 x 20 centimeters.
Attention! For safety reasons, you are not allowed to carry loose lithium batteries (e.g. power banks or spare batteries) in the baggage you check in. Please put them in the personal item you can take on board. This practical overview provides more information about the items you are or are not allowed to carry in our (carry-on) baggage.
A face mask during the flight
For passengers and crew
Wearing a face mask is obligatory at the airport as soon as boarding starts at the gate. You should bring your own face mask and wear it during the flight. Face masks must be changed every 4 hours, so you should make sure to bring enough face masks.
- Passengers aged 6 and older must wear a face mask during the entire flight.
- Face masks must be replaced every four hours. You have to take enough face masks for your outbound and/or return flight.
- Wearing a face mask on board is obligatory. Passengers who do not wear a face mask or refuse to wear one will be denied access to the aircraft or will be requested to leave the aircraft before the closing of the doors. Should such a situation arise during the flight, TUI fly can decide to remove the passenger concerned from the aircraft (and reroute the flight) if this is necessary to guarantee the safe operation of the flight.
The obligation to wear a face mask continues to apply if you have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
What’s a suitable face mask?
A suitable face mask is a mask the entirely covers the mouth and nose, such as a surgical face mask or a (non-) medical face mask. As for non-surgical face masks, we recommend masks with a replaceable filter. Other types of protection, like articles of clothing (e.g. a scarf), masks with an exhaust valve or face shields, are not adequate and cannot be allowed.
Hygiene and air quality on board
Our aircraft are equipped with HEPA filter, state-of-the-art air filters that clear the air of pathogens. Ventilation in the plane is very well regulated, limiting the spread of viruses. We have also taken extra hygiene measures on board to ensure that everything stays clean, and our cabin crew is well-trained. Our aircraft are thoroughly cleaned after 24 hours.
During the flight
Service during the flight with TUI fly
The service on board will differ slightly from what you're used to. This way, contact between passengers and the cabin crew can be reduced to a minimum. We will ask you to remain seated during the entire flight, and give you instructions on how to make use of the toilets. At the start of the flight, our crew will clearly explain how things will go during the flight.
Service during flights to Europe and Northern Africa
On flights within Europe and to Northern Africa, you can still buy items from our TUI Café offer. However, the assortment will be smaller and you can only make contactless payments.
Service during the long haul flight
You will still receive free meals and snacks on long-distance flights. However, the times at which the meals and snacks will be offered will be different and the assortment may vary. You will still have the opportunity to purchase items from our limited TUI Café offer.
