Dangerous Goods
Dangerous goods are items that may endanger the safety of an aircraft or person on board of the aircraft.
For safety reasons, international regulations prohibit the transportation of dangerous goods in your checked-in or carry-on bagage.
Please note that these items can include everyday customer items such as certain batteries, cleaning products etc.
You may NOT take these items along
The transport of the following items in your checked-in or carry-on bagage is prohibited by law (non-exhaustive list):
- Flammable solids - such as matches
- Flammable liquids - such as lighters, lighter fuel, fuel, paint, cleaning agents.
- Gases - such as irritant, toxic or flammable gases, self-defence sprays, camping gas.
- Oxidising substances and organic peroxides - such as bleaching powder, peroxides.
- Toxic and infectious substances - such as quicksilver, bacteria and virus cultures.
- Corrosive substances - such as acids, alkalis, wet cell batteries.
- Radioactive materials.
- Magnetic materials.
- Explosives, fireworks, flares, ammunition.
- E-cigarettes or electronic smoking devices and their batteries may only be carried in your hand baggage (recharging or use on board is prohibited).
Batteries
Batteries may be dangerous and can cause fire if not carried properly. Certain restrictions apply:
Lithium batteries, including Lithium-Ion, Lithium-Polymer or Lithium-Metal batteries, which are often used to power personal devices such as laptops, telephones, cameras, medical items etc, are allowed if they are correctly installed in a device.
Spare and uninstalled batteries and mobile charges (power banks) are NOT permitted in checked-in baggage worldwide and can ONLY be transported in carry-on baggage.
