How do I book a ticket for my baby?
Babies under the age of 2 and from 8 days old travel on the lap of one of the parents or a person a aged 18 and over. They do not have their own seat on the airplane. Babies pay a flat rate for the airport settlement (Airport Service Baby):
If the baby turns two years old during the journey, the normal outward and return tariffs apply. The baby then has its own seat on the outward and return flights.
If you also wish to book a seat for your baby, an extra seat must be purchased for the daily price of an adult passenger. This way you will pay the same rate any adult would. In that case you need to bring a child seat on board to place the baby in to be entitled to the extra seat. Cribs and cots are not allowed in the cabin. However, only child seats meeting the ECE R44-03 standard or higher with three-point belt and with label ‘For use in aircraft' are allowed.
If one person brings several babies (max. 2), they are required to purchase an extra seat for one of the babies at the adult rate applicable on the day of purchase. Keep in mind that you need to take a child seat on board to place the baby in. Cribs and cots are not allowed in the cabin. However, only child seats meeting the ECE R44-03 standard or higher with three-point belt and with label ‘For use in aircraft' are allowed.
Even if your baby hasn't been born yet we advise you to book its ticket anyway, as the number of babies allowed on each flight is limited. If you do not yet know the baby's first name, you can enter the letters 'XXX' in the 'First name' box when making the reservation. As soon as the baby is born, you need to communicate its first name.
